Buffalo Wild Wings to Create Sports Bar at the Great American Beer Festival®

Activation kicks off strategic program promoting small and independent craft brewers

Boulder, Colo. • July 2, 2018—The Brewers Association—the not-for-profit trade association dedicated to small and independent brewers—today announced that Buffalo Wild Wings, the largest pourer of draught beer in the country, will create a sports bar and fan experience at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) as a kick off to a national program highlighting small and independent craft brewers.

The 3,600 square foot Buffalo Wild Wings sports bar and fan experience will serve a variety of craft beers from small and independent brewers. Beer lovers can also enjoy all of the great games lined up that weekend with lots of TVs in the space. Buffalo Wild Wings will also celebrate the festival and competition by featuring GABF award-winning beers on tap at their restaurants nationwide. Additionally, wings and craft beer pairings and recipes will be shared on CraftBeer.com—the Brewers Association’s website for beer lovers.

“Craft beer lovers are sports lovers and this activation adds another experiential space at GABF where attendees can relax and enjoy independent craft beer and wings while cheering on their favorite teams,” said Ann Obenchain, marketing director, Brewers Association. “We’re excited to work with Buffalo Wild Wings to bring this program to life and for patrons to taste some of the country’s greatest, GABF award-winning beers at their local Buffalo Wild Wings.”

“With more than 30 beers on tap in most of our restaurants, Buffalo Wild Wings has become a destination for local, regional and national craft brands,” said Andrea Schwenk, beverage director at Buffalo Wild Wings. “Partnering with the Brewers Association and activating at the GABF will provide another great opportunity to engage with new fans and craft beer lovers, while also elevating the beer experience for all Buffalo Wild Wings guests.”

The Buffalo Wild Wings Sport Bar joins PAIRED®, the CraftBeer.com Pavilion and the Jameson® Caskmates Barrel-Aged Beer Garden and other craft beer and food occasion programs at GABF.

GABF is the premier U.S. beer festival and competition, bringing together the brewers and beers that make the U.S. the world’s most diverse brewing nation. First started in 1982, GABF represents the largest collection of U.S. beer ever served, in the format of a public tasting event plus a privately judged competition. GABF will take place September 20-22, 2018 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. Tickets go on sale August 1.
